Title: More cautions about tvrosat

As a1gonquin I was banned not that long ago. Tried to log in back then & was greeted with a message informing me that I had been banned. For more information was suppose to contact an administrator.
Did that thru an email & result was humiliation by the admin on the forum. Real classy guy. ::)

Here today a friend with website experience & I logged in only to discover my password had been changed. No "retired" under
my username so it appeared as if I hadn't been banned after all. But still couldn't log in.

There have been others whose accounts were 'closed' but not deactivated. These usernames suddenly became active again and strangely the grammar, punctuation, etc had changed some, as if it were being
ghost written, just enough to be noticeable if you were familiar with the person's posts in the past.

What my friend told me is that once they have control of your account they can do anything with it, including using your email address to get into other accounts at other forums, websites, etc. Fortunately my email
account was closed long ago because of suspicious activity.

So, for those who are still there it would be wise to attempt to log in, check your settings and if anything arouses suspicion, close that email account.

Tvroadmin. tek2000, the Professor, etc. are all the same person talking to himself to make it appear that there is more activity than there really is. All to make another sale. TVRO snake oil salesman is what he is,
that Alex Portillo aka Johm Simpson aka Carlos aka BossHogg aka etc, ad nauseum.

And here's the clincher, anyone who remembers all the bannings & rat avatars handed out at the defunct satellite testers will notice that this is the very same behavior now at tvrosat as back then.

It's unfortunate that businesses and websites like this are allowed to operate. These folk are usually fast change artists that pop up, take your money then disappear just to pop up elsewhere with a new name to do it all over again. When purchasing a product from any business its best to check out the business before purchasing products. See if they have a business license that is current, a reachable phone number, and a physical location, not a PO box. Do they have a good rating with the better business bureau? If they don' have these basic qualifications to do business legitimately it should be a red flag to the consumer to avoid them at all costs. Tek2000, aka satellites-galore, aka TVROSAT fails miserably at all of these. You decide, Buyer Beware!

Not that I want to draw eyes to tvrosat but lately there at Tumbleweed Junction they've resorted to fabricating stories just to draw the eyes of visitors. Starts with a question, follows with canned response from the alter egos of tek2000/tekadmin/Portillo making comment. Then another response & another & so on. Ad nauseum.
And the whole "this or that person is mentally ill" ploy is something Portillo has used again & again to discredit those who disagree with him. He's done it to me recently at that raghole. He has done it to one of the founders of Rainier before that at that raghole. He has done it to his deceived followers as BossHogg at the defunct satellitetesters. He has done it to Dr. Sat at Satelliteguys as rooneysat.

Tvrosat, Ricks, and others have hidden agendas they try to cover up using fables and folklore. My take is they want to attract unsuspecting fools and suck them into buying their cheap foreign fta junk. Which by the way have many reports all over of being just that, junk. Dragging Rainier into many discussions with bashing them shows they fear the truth getting out about their junk. Folk are starting to wise up, they want something that works. Rainier's equipment while may be pricy for some does that, it works, and works very well. Many good reports about what Rainier sells out there. I'm very satisfied with the D9865D Rainier sells. Its built like the old Chaparral receivers which were definitely high quality.  I recommend all who are tired of getting burned with those fta junker products to get Rainier products and see the difference. You always see posts of bugs, bricking etc in the fta forums using the fta dealers products. I never see that about Rainier's products. From my experience Rainier's products work flawlessly.  And with Rainier's 9865 you get the added benefit of subscribing to services like you could with your 4dtv. Those fta boxes cant do that nor ever will.

Portillo is back at it again equating EVERYONE he disagrees with as being one person. That was his old ploy at the since defunct satellitetesters too.

Portillo descries bashing on his forum yet does this openly as alter identities, then bans these 'altered states of awareness' to make it look as if he condemns bashing. He jumps back & forth as one identity or another just like his silly excessive use of emoticons.......hopping from one foot to another hoping the distraction will fool the unsuspecting & uninitiated. 

He has even stooped to the new low of stealing the identity of American veterans to use in his pathetic campaigns. Nice............

Now for a little background history of tvrosat/satellitetesters. And some ideas about Alex Portillo aka John Simpson aka Carlos aka rooneysat aka BossHogg aka tekadmin aka etc.
Those that might have been around for the beginning of tvrosat will recall some posts about  PowerVu piracy. Posts extolling the prowess of a characters going by the monikers colibri and Wizard.  Posts how they had all the info necessary to freely steal from the PVu providers because the uplinkers were so ignorant to keep using the same old default keys. These pos(t)ers even had the audacity to boast how they couldnt be touched. How they had cracked open the world of PVu. All of this beginning in 2014!
Then the providers took notice and began changing keys to thwart the pirates.  So what does John Simpson do? He bans all talk of piracy and puts on his false face of fta satellite legitimacy.
But then, what does he do to continue this charade?  He also starts up another forum, satellitetesters, deceptively dedicated to satellite fta tvro, but with additional discussions freely advocating theft of encrypted signals, of course using his designated special stbs , ones with special add-on daughter boards. Daughter boards designed by his go to sources for piracy, including his Wizard, a name that used to be seen all over the other fta forms interchangeably with such aliases as Casper.
Keys were boldly posted in an announcement box for the latest PVu exploits for all to see – all including piracy investigators. Consequently it was easy for ICANN to build their case against satellitetesters to close that forum. They had caused all kinds of troubles for Rainier, preventing them from gaining traction with programming providers. Programming providers were reluctant to do business because of this known source of piracy. The day satellitetesters forum went dark was a day for celebration indeed!
Back to tvrosat. Emboldened by his delusions of success, tekadmin has openly posted feeds and muxes that were encrypted alongside ITC feeds for the pirates operating behind the scenes. Why post encrypted feeds if you only support legal fta? Seems that John Simpson never really intended to relent, does it?
If you have your doubts, just take a trip down memory lane at Wayback Machine to find the truths. Interesting slip on the part of John Simpson. He recently banned a new member whose username was VC2. Given his history of piracy in recent history, it takes no real stretch of the imagination to surmise that he was also involved in videocipher piracy back in the day. How very ironic.

Piracy has never done anything good for the industry. It has been tried time and time again and always ends up failing. Those who buy into it end up spending more than you would if you went the legal route. Those who perpetrate it end up with heavy fines, prosecution and jail time. While some think they are outsmarting the system, are they really? Most of the time pirate users are welcomed with a black screen due to continuing Electronic Counter Measures, missing the program or game they wanted to watch. The legal subscriber on the other hand turns on his TV and enjoys what he paid for. The pirate user frustrated contacts his pirate source to complain (if the guy is still around) his source says they need an upgrade at this cost. The stupid pirate user agrees, gets his fix and thinks he's got the system beat, until he sits down to watch the big game and again is welcomed by a black screen due to a new ECM sent his way from the programming source. So where is he ahead of the game? He isn't.

Dealers and websites that directly or indirectly address and sell modifiable equipment may think they have something good going until the sheriff raids them, arrests them, and ceases customer records. Then the prosecution begins. John Doe pirate box user gets a letter to pay fines for pirate activity or faces jail time. He either pays the fine or goes to jail. Even if he pays the fine to avoid jail time it comes with consequences. Such as being passed on when interviewing for a new job or position, getting a loan, buying a house, buying a car etc. All this grief just because he wanted to steal TV. Is it worth it? Well anyone with an ounce of common sense can see, NO! Choose the legal route You'll be happy you did.

I don't get it. Why can't the fta dealers TEK2000, TVROSAT, Ricks and others make it on the up and up? Why do they need to sell illegal equipment and steal to make a living? Guess its a form of drug dealing selling dope to the dopes. Usually the drug boys end up burning sooner or later. History shows us piracy always gets shutdown. STUPID STUPID STUPID!

Its best to stay away from anyone who promotes this type of activity. TVROSAT, TEK2000, John Simpson, got some shady deals going on. The sooner he's busted the better for the good c band folk.

Was wondering about something. Maybe some light can be shed about this. I noticed forums like Ricks and TVROSAT post feeds that are scrambled, why? I mean if a feed is scrambled that means you cant watch it, right. Or is it have something to do with pirate activities these guys are into?

Doing some research I came up with something interesting about TEK2000.  We know he has no physical address except a drop box for his business. With no phone number to speak with him at. Well he's suppose to be in Canada according to his webpage. If you look up his domain name it shows registered to Panama South America. What gives?? Something is definitely wrong with this picture. Why hide if your legit?

It was pointed out to me that Mr Tvrosat Portillo called a cry for help thread BS on his "forum", a forum populated by lots of users of his own creation. If he's mad at FTA, then maybe he should find another "vocation."

His minion personalities appear in every FTA satellite forum out there. Only thing propping up his online "store" are the Chinese & their monies. Fake satellite dish inventories, fake receiver inventories ( as he did so frequently as BossHogg), fake usernames, fake stories to attract the uninitiated &, sorry to say it, gullible masses. ::)

TvroSat is run by Tek2000 (John Simpson) an Ex pirate dealer doing business from a drop box in Canada. His intent is to dump cheap Chinese gear in the USA, and Canada. If you do a search for his license to do business it comes up empty. What that tells me is he is conducting business illegally. This is probably why you can't contact him by phone. He wants no way of being traced. He uses dirt posts at TVROSAT to sway folk from going to legal businesses like Rainier. The problem here is he pollutes the internet with his lies and confuses many who are truly looking for good satellite equipment and programming for their c band big dish. Eventually his actions will burn him just like it did with Fridge FTA who conducted business similar. Joe Franko's Fridge FTA shutdown well over a year ago. Tek2000 will also meet this fate as history repeats itself.

I decided to go with a 24" as the 36" gave me far more stroke than I could use.  When I unboxed the Venture I was immediately impressed with the size and 'stoutness' of this actuator compared to the Superjack.  This actuator at 24" was bigger in circumference and weighed even more than the 36" Superjack.  I had to replace the existing dish brackets to accommodate the new actuator but installation went without a hitch."

Arion's been going round the web posting how good Tek's products are. Now he's not happy. This is what happens when you buy junk strictly on price. The sales technique that Tek uses to push his crap. Rick's products may be a step up from Teks, but still is low cost products targeted at bottom feeders.  You get what you pay for.

As always, Teklessmart boasts about his lengthy channels list, realistically something anyone else could write on a post-it note.

That list includes satellites not in the NA sat arc, encrypted or momentarily encrypted stuff he regularly "borrows", read steals, from other forums as a means to draw eyes to his tumbleweed junction.
Like supporters at a Hillary Clinton rally, there's very, very few in attendance. Just not that popular...for good reason...who want to listen to another world blaming tour rant by TekHogg :P
Underhanded tactics in cooperation with Chinese hackers are regular spastic efforts of Tek2kHogg & his cohorts to defeat Rainier. 

Despite all that baloney, Rainier service continues to grow. And will continue to grow in channels provided, quality c-band gear and customer service.

Fta dealers such as TEK2000 with his Chinese garbage products keep boasting how everyone needs their latest clunker receiver that can be bought for pennies on the dollar if you go direct to Alibaba. Buying a new free to air receiver to get the same channels a TV antenna can get is plain stupid. If you look at things logically, what new do they have to offer? NOTHING! You get the same old dwindling channel list that's are either encrypting or going away by fiber. Did you know if you own a old fta receiver you can get the same handful of signals that his new way jacked way up over cost receiver can get. What's the sense of buying another? FTA is dying model and manure salesmen such as TEK keeps looking for suckers to buy into his game before it goes totally under.

If you look at Rainier they supply something that FTA will never have. Quality  products and programming content that continues to grow. With the addition of content from the big name cable networks Rainier is the winner here.

Tvrosat attacks Rainier Satellite because he needs to blame someone for his failures. I see it as the grade school brat that don't get the attention he wants so he throws a tantrum. In his case the flawed FTA model don't allow him the place in the sun, so he looks to blame someone for it. Rainier has a good thing going and he's jealous, so blame them for it all. Tvroadmin and friends don't realize that people aren't buying his products for many of the points bigdishjohn pointed out, not because of Rainier Satellite.

Rainier Satellite isn't concerned about the drama Tvrosat (John Simpson) continues to stir. We've been in this game for over 6 years and made a good name for ourselves. People like us, the programmers like us, so much that were now getting requests from programmers to carry their channels on our system.  I'd say that's quite an achievement in itself.

Rainier's created a great future for c band with much more to come. We're pleased with where we're at and where we're going.

The Mighty Mini is not a shelf item as Tvrosat suggests. We looked at all the shortcomings of movers in general and addressed them with our own in house design. Rainier is the only place you can get our proprietary design.

Good for Rainier!

Having a positive attitude has its rewards when things are on the upward swing. Work becomes easier, troubles seem smaller and further away.

Irregardless of the naysayers elsewhere, I'm enjoying the high quality, high definition programming available with Rainier.
They have to work harder, read scan the satellite arc for free feeds, for their entertainment.
 Their home closets are full of yesterdays latest & greatest receivers gathering dust, doomed to oblivion.

In the more fake news from Teklessmart category, Carlos 'Hillary Rotten C.' Portillo-Simpson is slated to be guest lecturer about cyber security at University of Ottawa sometime next month.

Guess Ricks guys ain't happy with tek2000's paper thin mount dishes. Rick even said he won't deal with a business he can't talk with on the phone. Tek never had a phone number, some asked but he never provides one. That would be a red flag to me right out of the gate not to do business with him. Why does he need to hide out? Legit business have a easy way to get through to them. I feel sorry for ones who been burned. Caveat emptor.

I always can call Rainier, they have two phone numbers. They're always quick to answer any questions or concerns I may have. Been very satisfied with their products and support.

I know so as one email for that stb made it to my spam inbox, which then immediately went to trash.

Where did they get the addresses. By gaining access to databases by brute force then stealing.

Their personal info had been compromised. And same goes for some other well known satellite forums.
Stolen user IDs. Stolen contact info. Stolen dignity.

Tvrosat's added a Paypal donate button to its site begging for money and ads to support it. That's really sad. Guess the no sales from garbage products can't turn the few measly coins needed for support of the domain name and server space. Actions from guys like whoever TVROSAT is today and those who support his actions has ruined c band satellite and kept new folk from getting into it.

Back in the day satellite dealers worked with each other to promote it. Not anymore. What ever happened to all the satellite shops and new innovative products? What happened to all the programming sellers? Rainier's the only company that's seems to care. The good folk with big dishes that haven't embraced Rainier yet should do it already. Rainier's giving another chance to get on board for less money. It's been posted Rainier's launching a summer sale.

We have not taken this decision lightly, but with container shortages sending shipping costs through the roof, global manufacturing parts shortages and a rural American consumer that has been devastated by job losses and/or small business collapse, we had no other choice. Too bad.

We do have some stock of antenna accessories, such as LNBFs, actuators, switches, posts, etc. We will continue to sell down this inventory, but once it is gone, there will be no more."
Also noticed the once great Skyvision which became Sky Express a few years back went out of business.

That leaves Rainier Satellite as your go to for everything TVRO big dish satellite. Keep up the good work Rainier. Running a business right using US made products paid off for you.  :)

I feel sorry for the unsuspecting public Tek2000 took for a ride. There's reports of problems for years from those who bought his dishes. He gave the industry a bad name. Best thing to happen is he's out of it.

I guess Paul who ran Skyexpress (AKA Skyvision) is done too. They had a good following many years ago but when they started selling crap it came back and bit them.

Good thing is Rainier's still growing. The products they sell are stellar. This is good news for us.

Even at $40 bucks a month they charged for the basic package that is too much. Unfortunately to run a successful business it takes money The only way they survived so long (about 2 years) was they were draining some retired cable moguls bank account that had it in for Charlie Ergen at Dish, guess it dried up. I see Eutelsat shutting down their transponders by the end of the month.

Speaking of el-cheapos, I see that happy satellite clown from Tvrosat put up video about Orby pissing and moaning about it going away, and why they didn't give away free channels. This guy never supported them and he wonders why Orby went under. The guy must be brain dead or something. Does he really think  a business can hang around without paying the bills. Concerning Orby this is what we know at this point.

As of February 17 2021 reports started coming in about Orby TV going out of business noting their website disappeared except for a static message.

Rainier Satellite contacted Orbys customer help line to find it has a recorded message that Orby is no longer activating customer accounts. Orbys Facebook page appears to have been removed. At Orbys YouTube page all content has been removed.

Sources have been unable to reach Michael Thornton, Orbys CEO, and a former Starz and DIRECTV executive. When they called a Beverly Hills, California phone number listed for Orby at various business web sites, the person answering said it was a private residence which had nothing to do with Orby.

Eric Becker, a former Starz executive who now runs a private public relations firm called Becker PR, has done public relations work for Orby in the past. But when asked today if he knew the satellite TV services status, he said he did not work with Orby any longer and was unaware of its current status. Other reports said that customers cannot log into their accounts any longer.

While there's no official word from Orby TV as of yet this does not look good for its customers.

If Orby TV is in fact shutting down Rainier Satellite would like to reach out to Orby TVs orphans to get on board with us for their TV entertainment at a low cost. Rainier Satellite did the same reaching out to the 4DTV orphans when programming center shutdown in 2016. If your just looking for alternative to high cost cable and small dish check us out. Looks as if Orby TV is up to no good. Reports are coming in their website is back up and they're doing installs for $25.00. Anyone with a brain can  see something is wrong there. First they pull all operations down with no response to whats going on, then come back with a too good to be true price for an install without any explanation for customers to what happened. I smell BS. Buyer beware of their shady practices or be ready to be taken just like Tek2000 took unsuspecting fools for a ride. I work hard for my money and don't throw it away foolishly. Shady company's like Orby and Tek should not be allowed to operate.

Even if by some miracle Orby gets a loan to extend them a bit they won't survive long. Their model is all wrong. It costs money to run a satellite business especially the uplink and satellite time costs. $40 a month, pay as you go with maybe 75 subscribers contently changing ain't gonna pay those bills. The way Dish and Direct survive is from 2 year contracts and an average of $120 a month guaranteed from its subscribers. If Orby raised their prices to survive  they would loose their cheaper than dirt audience in an instant.

Something Rainer has going for it that no other satellite or cable provider has is they don't have to maintain the monthly costs of reuplinking signals or run a local network to deliver the programming. This was why c band was a proven success back in the day and the model still works. This allows Rainier to have the working capital to grow and expand, a luxury the others don't have. Economics 101 has buried Orby, plain and simple.

Orby's website came back up for a couple days. Its down again. Reports say nobody got responses to e-mails sent. Phone been down for close to 2 weeks. I'd say Orby's going away any day. What going to be interesting is if Orby will ever give an official press release or just disappear in a puff of smoke? Even Motorola and Programming Center announced shutdown plans to let subscribers know.

Motorola announced shutdown of the 4DTV 10 months before they shut the 4DTV system down. Programming center waited till 30 days before actually shutdown of HITS on the 4D. None the less Orby's said nothing. Probably when the cashflow ran out everyone got the axe at ounce. The company's probably in receivership with the creditors looking for what loses they can recoup from equipment and the like.

Their website is registered to  ENOM INC. They're probably being told by the creditors what information to legally provide. What I see is Orby was in trouble for some time. Discounting equipment at cost or less for months. Unlike with the 4DTV being upfront and shutting down gracefully, they decided to take the money and run, till they were forced out of business by their creditors. Typical rotten business practices.

Whoever told you that information is selling you fake content. There's a firmware upgrade that will be provided by satellite soon for the 9865 that includes H265, HEVC, with symbol rates up to 45000. This upgrade is due to programmers migrating to a newer compression needed to be able to make most efficient use of bandwidth available with the reduction of transponders available with 5G clearing.

The 9865 is not going away, in fact its getting better. When the time comes Rainier will contact its current subscribers about getting a satellite delivered firmware upgrade for their receiver. You will need a current subscription to participate.

As far as 5G goes using c band frequencies, this is a very stupid move by cell phone providers. C band is a microwave that can't penetrate cars or buildings. It blocked by trees and other structures in its path. They will learn the hard way that is not going to provide the coverage they expect. The health hazards of high powered transmitters at 3.7ghz microwave frequencies will lead to all kind of problems in the future for people. But they don't care about you. Its all about a money grab trip that will cause health issues for these greedy executives too.

Looks like pirates from TVROSAT are getting burned. New hardened ECM's and new scrambling systems are being implemented with c and ku band. No more freebies for those losers, tisk tisk. To top that off with the Chinavirus still hanging in there and runaway inflation, ZERO products are for sale from their loser source Tek2000. Oh well guys guess the day of reckoning has come.
